Texas Christmas Light Decorators Contest - House Contest

  • Entry Submissions must be received no later than 6 p.m.Wednesday, December 20th, 2023.

  • The contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior. Judging will be done from outside the residence only.

  • Judging will be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the street only. Therefore, only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged (corner lots will be judged from both streets). Judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards.

  • Only decorations visible from the roadway will be subject to judging.

  • You must follow the safety guidelines and regulations for using Christmas lights. Do not overload your circuits, use outdoor-rated extension cords, and keep your lights away from flammable materials.

  • You must comply with all local laws and regulations regarding electricity, noise, traffic, and safety. Do not cause any damage or harm to yourself, others, or the environment.

  • You must turn on your lights every night from December 20 to December 25, 2023, from 6 pm to 10 pm. This is the judging period, where judges and visitors will come to see your house and rate it.

  • You must respect your neighbors and the environment. Do not create noise, traffic, or light pollution that may disturb others.

  • A yard sign will be provided to each participant. This sign must be displayed in a prominent place in the yard, facing the street.

  • Only you entry per address

Texas Christmas Light Decorators Contest - Christmas Trees Contest

  • Entry Submissions must be received no later than 6 p.m.Wednesday, December 20th, 2023.

  • The Christmas tree judging contest is open to anyone who has a real or artificial Christmas tree displayed in their home or office.

  • To enter the contest, you need to register your tree by filling out the online form on this website by December 20, 2023. You also need to upload a clear and high-quality photo of your tree and provide a brief description of your theme and decorations.

  • The photo must show the entire tree and its surroundings. No drawings, paintings, or computer-generated images of trees are allowed. The tree must be properly displayed and not have any vulgar or obscene content. The judging will be done on the tree and any other content in the photo, such as the background, the lighting, and the accessories.

Texas Christmas Light Decorators Contest - Gingerbread House Contest

  • Entry Submissions must be received no later than 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 20th, 2023.

  • The Gingerbread House judging contest is open to anyone who has decorated a gingerbread house during the 2023 Christmas season.

  • The photo must show the entire creation and its surroundings. No drawings, paintings, or computer-generated images of gingerbread are allowed.

  • The creation must be made of mainly gingerbread and icing; unwrapped candy, cookies, crackers, cereals, pasta, and any other food item can be used as decorations.

  • The creation must not have any vulgar or obscene content.

  • The judging will be done on the creation and any other content in the photo, such as the background, the lighting, and the accessories.
